When Mr. Josan opened his first Indian restaurant on the northwest corner of Bleecker and Seventh Ave. in the West Village, over 30 years ago, he never thought it would be reborn with a spark of inspiration by his intrepid daughter, Danikkah. After moving across the street to open a new magazine shop in the '80s which continued on for many years. Mr. Josan realized times changing and knew it was the perfect moment to pass on the torch. It was time for a "Restaurant Reincarnation". Danikkah Josan hopped on board to transform the magazine shop into a beautifully hip corner eatery. She tapped into her NYC resources and teamed up with a visionary Creative Director to give life to the space with a full, a rebrand and redesign of prime real estate. Together they were up for the challenge. With Danikkah' Indian father, and Latina mother, there was only one thing to do. Introduce a seamless blend of both incredible cultures, and "Taco Mahal" was born!
