Chef Hong Thaimee, a veteran of both her own Thai restaurants and several Jean-Georges properties, presents her True Thai dining at Thaimee at McCarren. Chef Hong’s third restaurant pays tribute to the flavors and colors of her Thai childhood - in Brooklyn. Working from the world class kitchen of the McCarren Hotel, Chef Hong will offer a seafood Thai tasting menu. Featuring seven dishes of her True Thai creations.

Trained in the art of authentic Thai cuisine by M.L. Sirichalerm Savsti (McDang)—Thailand’s most celebrated chef, Hong has worked in some of New York City’s best restaurant’s including Kittichai, Jean George’s Spice Market, Jean George’s Perry St, as well as the 5 star Mandarin Oriental Dhara Hotel in her home town. Before finding her way to the kitchens of New York, Chef Hong was a model and television personality in Thailand, and the face of brands such as Pantene and Nescafe across Southeast Asia. Today, Chef Hong leads the team at NYC's fine Thai restaurant, Thaimee at McCarren. She has appeared on the Cooking Channel, Food Network, and featured in Food & Wine Magazine, and The New York Times. In 2013, Hong challenged Iron Chef Bobby Flay to an exciting Kitchen Stadium duel on Food Network’s, Iron Chef America.
